How does the sheep conveyor work?

The sheep walk from the race to the conveyor. We recommend to have Crowding tub set in place because this is beneficial for a good flow of the sheep. And with a good flow you will have a smooth running operation. You will be able to maximise the throughput of your sheep.

Our Veno Ovibus Sheep Conveyor is equipped with two conveyors and the sheep are guided between the two conveyors. This is one of the best animal stress free solutions for your sheep. You can operate the conveyors with foot pedals. So, you can set the pace yourself.

The automatic stop gate ensures that the animals cannot walk further. So, you can handle each sheep separately in the conveyor. The automatic stop gate is controlled by a sensor.

The automatic selection or sorting gate can be configured based on conditions that you set. This is configured in the weighing computer which is connected to the automatic gate. For example, lambs between 30 – 35 kg go to the right, lambs between 35 – 40 kg go straight and lambs > 40 kg go to the left.

The integrated weighing bars and antenna panel allow you to automatically weigh your sheep and lambs and register the ear tag. Another advantage is that you can also register the weight and link it to your animal management system.
