In modern sheep farming, efficiency and sustainability are of great importance. The right feeding system can lower costs, lighten the workload, and promote animal health. We have developed a system that both optimizes the feeding needs of sheep and makes daily tasks easier for the farmer. This system consists of a feeding belt with self closing feed barriers, specifically designed to prevent feed waste.
Benefits of a feeding belt
Time-saving. No more manual feeding, saving a significant amount of time.
House up to 1.5x more animals. Efficiently use available space and house up to 1.5 times more animals.
Increased productivity. Animals get the nutrition they need, leading to good growth and production.
Cost savings and reduced feed waste. A feeding belt minimizes feed waste by controlling portions and preventing loss.
And more! Such as more efficient working, better working conditions, and easy stable layout.
An important part of our system are the self closing feed barriers, which are fully lamb-tight. Thanks to the lamb-tight design, only sheep can access the feed on the feeding belt.
The feed edge of the feeding belt is made of high-quality stainless steel (SS). The stainless steel feed edge contributes to a longer lifespan of the feeding belt, reduces the risk of damage, and makes the system easy to maintain. Moreover, stainless steel is easy to clean, promoting hygiene. The use of stainless steel ensures that the feed edge is resistant to the harsh conditions in a stable, such as exposure to moisture and manure.
The feeding belt uses a thick 8 mm chain, combined with a hardened nest disc. This combination ensures that the feeding belt continues to function excellently even under heavy loads and intensive use. The 8 mm chain is strong and durable, while the hardened nest disc helps prevent wear on the chain and the feeding belt. The nest disc is specifically designed to distribute the load carried by the feeding belt and minimize the risk of wear from friction. This means the feeding belt will not wear out quickly, even when used daily to feed a large number of sheep. The use of hardened materials ensures that the system remains reliable for many years, contributing to long-term savings on maintenance costs.
With an increasing shortage of skilled labor, a feeding belt is a great solution to continue keeping the same number of sheep. The feeding belt saves time, and you can feed multiple times a day, such as in the morning and evening. Additionally, you can house up to 1.5 times more animals on the same area.
