Milking Stands for Sheep and Goats

Milking stands and stanchions for sheep and goats. Our milking stanchions are suitable for sheep and goats with or without horns. The milking stand has a cascade closing system. This means that one position is open and the other positions open sequentially. We have two different neck sizes available. The neck size of 9.5 cm (3 47/64 inches) is for goats and the neck size of 12 cm (4 23/32 inches) is for sheep. The milking stanchions are available in a left or right-hand version. That is, the first animal locks up first on the left or right. The milking stands are mounted with support columns or on the wall. You can also construct the milking stanchion on our milking table with a barrier set and ramp. The guillotines help to stop other animals entering the stanchion. Lastly, you can make the milking stands complete with a trough, brackets for the trough and a control lever to release the animals.

Milking headlocks vs standard headlocks

The big difference between Milking headlocks and the ‘standard’ headlocks is the way of opening. Milking headlocks work with a cascading system. The first animal enters a stand and will open the next stand besides him for the second animal. This will go on till all stands are filled and milking can start. When finished you can open all stands together by pulling the control handle.

Before producing the milking headlock elements we need to know from which side the sheep or goats will enter!
