Two important differences are the methods of turning the sheep. With one, you tilt the sheep backwards in one operation. With the side operator, the animals turn on their axis. The idea is that you can very easily handle your animals at working height.
That handling can include, claw trimming, pilling, tail shaving and drenching. The choice of device depends on the type of sheep or goats you have. It also depends on what the farmer finds easiest to use.
The tilter is an easy-to-use device. Animal-friendly and easy to move. Tilting with tilting support makes it easier for the farmer to turn backwards. A counterweight makes turning light.
Turnover crate is available in three models. The standard tipper we sell in two sizes. In this, we can also make a goat adjustment. This adjustment ensures that the goat is also clamped easily.
The turnover crate with clamping system is suitable for large sheep. One of them has a roll cage that turns outwards and so you can still easily work on both sides of the animal.
In the most ideal situation, sheep’s hooves are trimmed 3-4 times a year. Removing the excess parts keeps the hooves healthy and in good condition. You can use hoof trimmers or a knife to remove the excess parts. Also inspect the skin for peculiarities by cleaning the area between the claws well.
A common way of trimming the hooves is to put the sheep with its butt on the ground or in a car tyre. We often hear that this is hard work and stressful for the back. Another disadvantage is that you do not have your hands free and the sheep can experience a lot of stress with this method.
A turnover crate is a tool for cutting the hooves and also fits perfectly with the treatment slot. Thanks to the tilter, you have your hands free, relieve your back and the sheep experience less stress.
In cooperation with professional hoof trimmers, we have developed a goat adjustment for our turnover crates. Thanks to the adaptation, goats are securely clamped and stay calm in the crate. This allows you to easily trim your goat’s hooves and the animal itself experiences less stress. The goat adjustment is available for the side chuck universal and side chuck with variable clamping system.
